This Salmon Panel was hand-carved in 2016 by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Troy Kwaseesthala. It has been carved from yellow cedar, painted in acrylic, with 79 inlays of abalone. It was acquired from a collection and is in very good condition.
The Salmon symbolizes abundance, fertility, prosperity and renewal. For thousands of years, Salmon have been the primary food source for Northwest Coast Native Americans and are highly respected.

The panel measures approximately 31 inches or 79 centimeters in diameter and up to 2 inches or 5 centimeters thick.
